Danger, a subsidiary of Microsoft, and T-Mobile regret any inconveniences experienced by Sidekick customers as a result of a technical issue. This will limit customer access to data services but it will not affect phone or texting capabilities. We are working to resolve the issue and hope to have things restored to normal soon.
We will use this thread for official updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

T-Mobile and Danger, a subsidiary of Microsoft, are urgently working to restore impacted services to Sidekick, and deliver them to you as quickly as possible. Following is a status update for our valued customers:
- We expect data services to begin gradually returning in the next couple of hours (Saturday evening). - Web browsing has already been restored - Functions like IM should be accessible next; additional capabilities, such as social networking applications and e-mail, will then follow. While we anticipate a significant portion of data services to be restored by Monday, some richer data services may lag. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as we work hard to resolve this issue. We will continue to keep you updated as we have news to share.

Attention Sidekick users! Danger, a subsidiary of Microsoft, is continuing to work urgently to resolve the service disruptions affecting T-Mobile Sidekick customers. Please see below for the latest updates: 10/5 12:30 PM PDT - IM services and access to social networking applications are now being restored along with Web browsing. The Address Book, Calendar, and other features are available as well. Do not remove or 'hard reset' your device, doing so may cause Address Book and Calendar information to be lost. We expect e-mail service and back-up of user data to be restored today. Some richer data services, such as new purchases from the Catalog, may take longer to enable. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as Danger works hard, around-the-clock to resolve this issue. T-Mobile will continue to keep you updated as we learn more. Thank you!

As of Thursday 10/8 at 9 am (PST), Danger, a subsidiary of Microsoft, has successfully restored data services, including email, IM, and Web browsing. Service also has been restored to several network-based applications, such as Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, and Bing. Phone, SMS, and MMS have continued to work throughout the disruption.
We are continuing to work around-the-clock to resolve the remaining issues affecting Sidekick customers, including enabling access to the Sidekick Catalog and backing up user data such as address book and PIM information. Customers should ensure they do *not* remove the battery from their device or let their battery drain completely; doing so will result in a hard reset, and customer data will be lost. We will continue to post status updates as issues are resolved, and we thank our valued customers for their patience. We apologize for any inconvenience this disruption has caused.
